Writing for pleasure to showcase the best Australia has on offer.
The Mount Gravatt East State School pride themselves in providing all their students with a high-quality education in a caring and supportive environment. Their motto, Be Safe, Be Respectful and Be a Learner gives students not only achievement in their own lives, but also to be proud of the school in which they attend.
The school opened in August 1955 with 200 students attending and was then named the Creek Road State School. By the end of that yea,r enrolment numbers had increased to 310 and in January 1956, the school was renamed to the Mount Gravatt East State School.
Those early years of writing using slates and sponges for wiping off mistakes is a far cry from today's child of the technology age.
On Saturday 24th August 2019, the school is hosting its annual fundraiser Family Fun Day from 10.00am through to 1.00pm. This year promises to be bigger and better with a morning full of carnival games, inflatables, craft, markets and delicious food.
There is no entry fee; however, the event is cash only. There are no ATMs on the grounds.
