Debra, a stay-at-home mum of three, loves experiencing and sharing all that Brisbane has to offer; especially southside secrets.
Community celebration
Ken Fletcher Park, located in Tennyson, is Brisbane's newest riverside park. Join in the fun when Brisbane City Council hosts the official opening with a community celebration. This family fun day takes place on Sunday, January 27, from 1pm to 3pm.

There will be a free sausage sizzle, snow cones, and face painting. Kids, don't miss the wildlife show. And parents, don't forget to pick up your free native plant.

Lord Mayor, Graham Quirk, will be on hand to unveil the mosaic artwork created by local students from the Tennyson Special School, MontroseAccess, and Yeerongpilly Special Education Developmental Unit.

I visited the park with my children this week. Named after Brisbane born tennis legend, Ken Fletcher, this 2.9 hectare park is quite impressive. For a sneak peek, read my review here.

Ken Fletcher Park is located on King Arthur Terrace, opposite the Queensland Tennis Centre. On-street and off-street parking is available.
