Would you like to step back in time when machinery was run by steam, cars and trucks didn't have in-built computers, blacksmiths plied their trade and you could ride on a 2-foot gauged industrial railway?

If so, pop down to the Campbelltown Steam and Machinery Museum "Oil, Steam & Kerosene" Family Fun Days on the 14th & 15th May 2016.

The museum and the Family Fun Days are run and operated completely by volunteers who have hundreds of years of knowledge between them. So much so, that they can expertly bring back to life machinery of a bygone era.

By running the Family Fun Days at the Museum, they aim to educate and entertain the public and promote the restoration and preservation of our unique past.

The great thing about the Family Fun Day (which is held twice a year), is that a majority of their exhibits are working, so you can experience what the sights, sounds and smells of a bygone era would have been like.

It houses a unique collection of vintage steam and internal combustion agricultural and industrial engines, plus a two-foot gauge industrial railway which you can hitch a ride on while you are there.

Why don't you bring your family and friends along and marvel at the working steam displays, vintage stationary oil engines, army vehicles, tractors, farm machinery, vintage cars, blacksmithing and plenty more stalls.

While you are there, you could take a free wagon or 2-foot gauge train rides, take a picnic lunch and use their BBQ facilities. If not, you could always try some of their onsite hot and cold food like the burgers, pies, ice creams and drinks.

The Museum currently has around 190 members from all over the state, who hold regular events and attend many external shows with likeminded organisations, or to help with celebrations in our local area. The volunteers of the Campbelltown Steam and Machinery Museum are always very busy and currently they are restoring a number of new and old exhibits.

Over the years this Museum has provided educational and entertainment opportunities that have appealed to people of all ages.

As a member and guest you will be able to come along to the steam, outdoor movie, popcorn, entertainment nights. They even have antique vehicles and caravans, tow trucks and much more on display. You could also go along to one of their camp oven cooking weekends.

HIRING THE MUSEUM SITE.

Are you a member of a car club that does breakfast runs, twilight runs, lunch meets and overnight camping? Or maybe you are a member of a photographic club or part of a tour group. How cool would it be to have a school excursion here or even have a scout & guide camping trip? Maybe you work in television, advertising or film production and have been looking for a place to film in.

Campbelltown Steam & Machinery Museum site can be hired for any one of these types of events or days outside of their field day times. So get your thinking caps on and contact early to discuss your needs.

The museum is set over rural acreage with parklands and well-kept lawns with a permanent light railway around half of the site's perimeter. They have 4 gas BBQs and BBQ seating with tables. There's a toilet block with disabled access and two picnic areas, as well as a good amount of birdlife and some wildlife present almost all year round for people to view.
