I am a world traveller & a mom of two, (8 & 6). I love to meet people, and am fascinated that there are 7 billion stories out there to be explored. I think Melbourne is the most happening city to live in with all the fun activities around town.
Calling All Fun-lovers
No incentive is required to visit the stunning Royal Botanic Gardens at Cranbourne. Those who have visited it once know exactly what I am talking about. The grandeur and openness of the garden is in itself truly awe-inspiring. The exquisite detail with which the garden has been transformed into a tiny piece of heaven, leaves visitors enchanted indeed.
The Red Centre at Royal Botanic Gardens in Cranbourne
Those of you who are looking for the opportunity to return to these elegant gardens that offer so much for everyone, or those who are waiting to make their first trip to this charming haven, Wednesday January 15, 2014 is the date you want to mark on your calendars. The Royal Botanic Gardens Cranbourne is hosting afree family fun day with support of South East Water and City of Casey.
Roaming Entertainers cheer visitors
The event starts at 10am, ending at 4pm. Family fun really means entertainment for different age groups, which will include a free BBQ, activities for children, roaming entertainers, storytelling, games, etc. When South East Water is involved, you can be sure there will be educational information sessions or presentations about sustainable use of water.
Cool down and have fun in Rockpool Waterway
While you are there, you might want to give Yoga a try. Yes you heard that right. Royal Botanic Garden is holding Yoga sessions (conducted by Victorian YMCA in Casey) every Wednesday throughout the summer from 10:30am to 11:15 am for $5 per session. At that price and at this venue, everyone will be swarming to these mind-calming and body-toning sessions. The classes are lead by a qualified instructor and are suitable for any level of fitness. There are well-known health benefits of Yoga, and if you've always wanted to give it a go, this might be a good opportunity.
Come early so that you can spend the entire day exploring the nooks and crannies of the garden. Pack a picnic or have a snack at the cafe. Be inspired and take ideas back to your own home garden. Find the best spots to take magnificent and memorable photographs. Ride in the Garden Explorer, an open-air people mover. Children can splash in the Rockpool Waterway on a hot day or plan in the sandpit or have fun in the children's garden. Adults can become children all over again and join in the fun.
