Celebrate NYE on the Gold Coast in style with the family
There is a lot going on this year on the Gold Coast to take part in over the holidays. Here are eight ideas to discuss with the family to get into the NYE spirit.

There are many kiddie friendly options for the whole family to enjoy NYE on the Goldie and one such family-friendly institution is the Palm Beach Surf Club. This NYE, the club offers families to dine at the club before watching the fireworks display trickle on down from Surfers to Coolangatta on their deck. Mermaid Waters Lonestar Tavern and Quality Hotel Mermaid Waters is getting into the NYE spirit this year with a NYE Kids Karaoke Party. The party kicks off at 5:30pm to 8:30pm with prizes to be won, face painting at Lonestar Tavern on the Cnr of Markeri St & Sunshine Bvd, Mermaid Waters. Broadwater Parklands is hosting an epic tribute concert for NYE called Another Year Bites The Dust with music from Queen, Spectrum and Oz Horn to sing and dance along too. This is a family-friendly event with a Free Kiddie Zone, circus play, face painting and Free Popcorn. Food trucks are available but no alcohol is permitted. This event is a great way of bringing in a new decade on a picnic blanket with the fam. The event kicks off from 4:30pm to 8:30pm and is located on The Great Lawn, Broadwater Parklands, Marine Parade, Southport.

The Coomera NYE Event at Viney Park is another yearly institution for families to welcome in the new year. A sausage sizzle is on offer this year and kicks off from 5pm to 9pm. Harley Park, Labrador will be hosting a family-friendly NYE celebration which starts at 4:30pm. There will be kiddie friendly music, Steven the piano Man, Velvet Underground to entertain the littlies. Food vendors will be available to the general public with food, drinks and desserts available throughout the night before the 8pm fireworks commence. Other kiddie-friendly entertainment the fam can enjoy include Free face painting, balloon twisting, show bags and glow necklaces in exchange for a charitable donation.

Broadwater, Paradise Point Parklands will be hosting NYE for the whole family from 5pm. Live music from White Chocolate, The Stars of Tomorrow Young Talent Showcase, Shooting Stars singers and dancers are all on the card to entertain the fam. Free face painting is also available as well as the 9pm fireworks from three pontoons on the Broadwater this year. The Broadwater, Paradise Point Parklands is situated at The Esplanade, Paradise Point.

NYE on the Gold Coast just isn't a party without fireworks at Surfers Paradise Beach. This year's fireworks will be accompanied by DJs and MC's at 8pm and midnight on the famous beach.

The renovated Star Gold Coast Casino has two NYE events to bring in the New Year. The Michael Jackson History Show traces the life and music of MJ and is a sure way to party out the old decade and to bring in the new decade with this live tribute show. The show kicks off on NYE at 8pm sharp with tickets available through Ticketek.

The Star Gold Coast has a variety of options available to patrons at their restaurants for its NYE party, with the iconic Balloon Drop happening in The Atrium Foyer at midnight.
