Best dressed Christmas costume @ family festival, Camperdown
It is so exciting with all the Christmas themed festivals and markets being held at this time of the year, putting us all in a festive mood for the coming celebrations with family and friends getting together.
Acre Eatery is a farm-to-table restaurant and is part of the revitalised community hub and Camperdown Commons. Acre Eatery provides a sustainable dining experience by using the fresh and local produce prioritised from on-site partner Pocket City Farms. A map of where they are situated is on their website.
Camperdown Commons is located at 31a Mallet Street Camperdown, which is only four kilometres from Sydney's CBD. The area was formerly a bowling green and now can be seen with abundant crops of vegetables and herbs. Farming specialists and educators Pocket City Farms have turned a 1200m2 area in a market garden along another 180m2 encompassing a community food forest, a chicken coop, a greenhouse and a community composting program.
Workshops are held regularly and there are still plenty to choose from leading up to Christmas. Other events include yoga classes, school, corporate and community groups talk or tours and volunteering. If you would like to keep up-to-date with the activities happening at Camperdown Commons, you can follow them on Facebook, Instagram or sign up to receive an email newsletter.
Mark the date of Sunday 23rd December 2018 in your calendar and get the whole family together for a terrific day at Camperdown Commons. There will be plenty of activities for children and adults with Spritz Bar serving breakfast and lunch and Winda's Bakery will be selling freshly made seasonal cakes and treats 11am to 3pm.

Children can dance to the disco happening on the lawn from 12 Noon to 1pm or join in the gingerbread decorating class with the chefs. This workshop will be held from 10am to 11am and is free. From 1pm to 2pm, your child can delight in face-painting with Santa's Elves. There will also be a best dressed Christmas costume competition.
Spritz Bar will be open from 8am to 5pm and the dining room will be open for lunch from 12 Noon to 5pm, however, the kitchen in both these venues will close at 4pm. Food and drinks can be purchased on the day as you go. Although this is a free event, you must register online so catering can be accommodated.
There will also be a Christmas Gift Collection for Drought Angels, so if you can spare a few dollars, buy a gift so people living in the bush and in hardship can also have a festive season. Drought Angels is registered as a not-for-profit charity who are dedicated to supporting Australian farmers.
