This is an event that will inspire children and adults alike. The
Powerhouse Castle Hill presents demonstrations focusing on sustainability and science. This is a series of talks and activities presented free for all the family. Open 10am to 4pm on Saturday 4 February 2023 and it is free for everyone to enjoy.
The day will be full of activities with objects from the Powerhouse science collection, find out about recycling, do some citizen science, and you can even take part in making a blue-banded bee home. Discover vegetables and sing about them, then have a picnic in the gardens. So much fun for the whole family.
There is a collection where you will also discover objects used by scientists in the field and in labs. You'll have fun seeing preserved insect, animal, and plant specimens, fossils, and gemstones, as well as mineral and oil samples. You will even see scientific instruments, including those used by Antarctic explorers.
There will be performances at The Vegetable Plot at 11am, 12pm and 1pm. Through the power of music and storytelling, kids will fall in love with veggies. Clap along to songs filled with jokes to show kids how language is used to play and create.
Learn about bees, birds, butterflies, citizen science, and biodiversity on the PlantingSeeds Garden walks. This is all part of the B&B Highway Initiative - Bed and Breakfasts for birds, bees and biodiversity. Along these walks, you will learn about stingless bees and their hives as well as learning about citizen science.
Although this fun family day is free, registration is recommended. You can book your tickets

It is also recommended you bring your own food or picnic as there are no food facilities at this venue.
