Does your child believe in fairies?
Below is a collection of fairy-themed places to visit, within 90 minutes of driving time from Brisbane.

Kumbartcho Sanctuary and Nursery
15 Bunya Pine Court, Eatons Hill

Kumbartcho Sanctuary and Nursery encompasses 6 hectares of land with bushwalking tracks, an Environment Education Centre, semi-fenced playground and barbecue facilities.

Of particular interest is the "Fairytale Trail," a walk featuring an assortment of fairy statues, ornaments, dwellings and decorations.

This venue is open 7 days a week, 7am-7pm with free entry.

Flights of Fancy
Shop 4, 117 Long Road, Mount Tamborine

Flights of Fancy is a whimsical store offering children's fairy activities, magical shopping experiences and beautiful themed rooms for exploring.

Every Saturday and Sunday at 10:30am, 12:30pm and 2pm, the fairies gather for a full hour of craft, stories, games and dress ups. For just $15 your child can spend an hour of fun with the fairies, while you have a coffee. For bookings, call 55451157

Featherstone Park
5 Almira Street, Shailer Park

This playground is situated under a thick canopy of trees, providing a darkened and cool environment. It is of average size with minimal play equipment but boasts an array of gnome statues and toadstools among the leaf litter.

Behind the playground is an open area leading to bushland, with a semicircle-shaped grassy walking path - ideal for a fairy hunt (and also for younger children who do not have the endurance to complete regular bushwalking tracks).

Unfortunately, no off-street parking or toileting facilities are available.

Faerie Park
Ironwood Circuit, Merrimac

Faerie Park is the Gold Coast's first park dedicated for toddlers. In addition to general playground equipment, this venue provides several structures that create a magical setting.

Visitors can search for fairies in the gardens, sit on little toadstool statues, cross a troll's bridge, enter a goblin's cave or peer into the wishing well.

Brunswick Heads Fairy Trail
7 Park Street, Brunswick Heads

The Brunswick Heads Fairy Trail features thirty fairy houses. The exact locations of these homes are secret they are hidden in all sorts of imaginative nooks and crannies. Specific clues can be obtained from The Visitor Centre in Park Street or downloaded from the website.

Family members of all ages can enjoy searching for fairy homes and evidence of fairy activities. Each fairy dwelling is different but most are decorative sculptures made from recycled or found materials. Each fairy house is accompanied by a sign displaying a positive message intended for little explorers.
