The word cupcake takes me down childhood parties with plates covered with little colourful cakes, all to a child's delight. As the years roll on, cupcakes have taken on a more exclusive slant with cupcakes making it to corporate offices as a birthday treat.

I have had my fair share of dry cupcakes and, like coffee, purchasing one comes with a huge risk. Is my purchase going to be another dry cake base with a sold piece of inedible icing on top?

While walking through the Inaloo Mall, I saw this little stand with a sign that said Fairy Cakes . My girls were just in awe with how delicate each fairy cake was. Each one looked like it was in the finals of My Kitchen Rules.

So as a little treat, I bought them each one to try. While I am doing my best to stay clear from sugar, I could not resist trying a spoon full. Each cupcake came in its own beautiful holder with a little cake fork.

We chose the chocolate ones, of course. This fairy cake was definitely magical. For the first time I was taken back to a childhood memory of my mum's famous (and sought after) chocolate cake. The icing complimented the moist cake as a soft and fluffy addition. It was like a magical marriage of cake and icing made in fairy land itself.

Fairy Cakes seemed to have perfected the very art of creating this cupcake master piece. You too, can have this experience. It would also make a perfect Mother's Day gift. If you are unable to make a decision, just choose one of each. And if you visit their Facebook page, you can download their latest offer. How much more magical could it be?
