The popular, award-winning Fairday returns in 2016 as part of Fringeworld Perth. The family-friendly event takes place on Sunday 7th February from 11am to 6pm at Hyde Park Botanical Gardens on the corner of Vincent and William Streets.

The picturesque park will again play host to this annual community event and is also the perfect setting for a BYO picnic and drinks on the grass. Among the green backdrop throughout the day will feature live entertainment, a variety of stalls, food vendors, a children's play area and a much loved dog show for each and every visitor to enjoy.

Food and drink
With food being at the forefront of everyone's mind, there is no shortage of delicious food options to choose from on the day. Seven of Perth's most delectable portable kitchens, favourite food trucks and all their gourmet offerings will be present, including delights from Bangkok Jump Street, Soul Provider and Marcelita's Colombian Empanadas, natural juices and slushies from Luscious Liquids and icy treats from La Paleta.

Entertainment
With food and drinks taken care of, there is a pumping schedule of entertainment throughout the Fairday event taking place on the main stage. Many tastes are catered for, with DJs, drag queens, burlesque, cabaret, hip hop, previews, acoustic and solo performances gracing the stage. The Pampered Pooch Show will be kicking off at 3pm, where puppy competitors will be judged for 'Most Dramatic' (best dressed) and 'Best Strut' titles. Limited spots for the competition are available, so enter your pooch at the Info Desk on Fairday.

Children's activities
As Fairday is a family-friendly event, the children have not been left out of all the fun of Fairday! There is a host of activities planned for the little ones, where they can check out roving entertainers between 11:30am to 3pm, get their face painted by a professional face painting crew and hang with the Imagination Faeries as they decorate the event with glitter and smiles.

This year, Fairday will be providing extra shade cloths and beach umbrellas at the event as well as shade domes and a giant misting machine to make the event as comfortable as possible.

Entry to Fairday is $5 and free for Pride WA members as well as children under 16 years of age. For further information and updates about Fairday, visit the Pride WA website or follow the official Facebook event page and get on down to support our growing diverse community.
