Play areas for all ages
Fadden Pines Playground (way down South) is another epic playground with gorgeous surroundings, a large grassy area, and several playgrounds within sight of each other so different ages are catered to. It also has beautiful views of the mountains, especially from the climbing castle, and has a skate park and picnic facilities.

Way back in the era of Charles Weston (Canberra's Officer in Charge of Afforestation 1913-1925), Fadden Pines was chosen to be an example to prove that eroded landscapes could be restored through planting appropriate trees. The forest began in 1953, and was a huge success.

In the 1970s and 80s the forest was adjusted to become a park-like area suitable for its location within a rapidly-growing population centre. The latest addition is the climbing castle.
