Preston Market is getting into the festive season with a family fun day on Sunday 3 December 2023 from 10.30am to 2.30pm. Start whistling 'It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas' - because Preston Market is making sure it does as it celebrates the season with entertainment, activities, portraits and the 'Preston Pav'. It's a little Americanised but a fun activity to adopt with Melbourne's famous Awkward Portraits who'll be at the market with their best collection of ugly Christmas jumpers and Santa hats. Pose your creative awkward best as they 'snap' you, your friends and family in the most cringe worthy poses before you're provided a free framed photograph as a keepsake for the ages. It’ll be first-in, best-dressed (literally), so run, don't walk.

Throughout the day there will be live music, lots of activities, including a kids’ Christmas mandala ornament-making workshop, a Gingerbread House pop-up and, of course, food and drinks from market traders. She will demonstrate how to make the show-stopping Preston Pav” and provide tips and tricks on how to make - and decorate - the perfect pavlova this summer.
