Many studies have shown that artistic expression goes much further than relaxation, as the repetitive nature of craft activities can also assist with stress relief, anxiety and even phobias. So it is no surprise that many of us re-discovered our forgotten creative pursuits whilst in self-isolation.
All ages and skill levels were able to get onboard the global 'quarantine craft' trend, with many embracing the practice of needlework, including embroidery, crochet, knitting and sewing.
What's great about these solo handicrafts is minimal materials are required and with just basic skills, your creativity will be ignited.
If you got in touch with your creative side during the lockdown and want to learn new skills, traditional techniques and try your hand at exciting new projects, join Shelley Burton at The Fabric and Felt Studio.
Located in Gumdale (30 minutes east of the Brisbane CBD), The Fabric and Felt Studio is a specialist shop, which also offers a diverse range of interactive creative classes, which are set to launch in June 2020.
