A NSW Winner for the best Spanish Restaurant

A special treat for tonight; dining at an award-winning Spanish tapas restaurant in Crows Nest.

Verdict first: delicious meal with stunning gorgeous presentation.

Spanish is synonymous with tapas and sangria; how could we not order a glass or two ?

This place is compact and cosy. There is a limited seating capacity and I would recommend to book ahead to secure yourself a table. With all the delicious food they have to offer, diners will linger.

We ordered a 'couple' of tapas dishes, and I thought it would be a good idea to order some breads to 'mop up' the delicious tapas jus sauces afterwards.

Crumbed Fried Cheese Balls! Hmmm...A good yummy appetiser to start off the meal.

scallop, Salsa, Tapas
Vieiras con Salsa $14.00

A beautifully arranged tapas. Loved the roasted capsicum and cherry tomatoes. The corn kernels soaked up all the jus. A great combination with the grilled scallops. The cured meat added crunchiness.

The tapas here took a more gentle mild approach, probably incorporating a French influence.

The best way I can describe this dining experience; if Spanish food is like heavy metal roll n roll, then Extra Virgin Fine Foods is like Mix 106.5 - soft and soothing.

Kingfish, Seafood, Tapas, French
Ceviche $12.00

Thinly sliced raw kingfish marinated in citrus and extra virgin oil. Topped with orange & grapefruit cubes, then garnished with finely diced French onion, red peppers and edible herbs.

Ahhh...I absolutely have no resistance to carefully arranged dishes! I often stared at them for a long time, as I did not want to disturb the beautiful artwork.

Cous Cous, French, Fusion,
Piquillo relleno $13.00

Another beautiful Tapas. You will be surprised at the elegance of the dishes.

Spanish, Tapas,
Chorizo en sidra $11.00

Potato, Tapas, Spanish
Potato Bravas $15.00

Now, I'm ready for some 'traditional' Spanish tapas with a bit of a twist and different and unique flavourings. I think I still prefer the authentic Spanish tapas without too much fuss and fusion.

Steak, Sandwich, Mini, Tapas, Appetiser
Chivito $12.00

Super cute Tapas - Mini Uruguayan steak sandwich with scotch fillet, ham, lettuce, tomato, cheese & olive mayo.

The staff were great and friendly. I believe our meal was a soaring delight because he has recommended all the best tapas dishes.

We had a wonderful night.
