Mesmerising vocals recount the tragic life story of one of the greatest French singer of all time; Edith Piaf.

Exposing Edith has received critical acclaim throughout Australia, New Zealand and the UK at Edinburgh Fringe Festival, Leicester Square Theatre, Adelaide Cabaret Festival, Festival of Voices and Auckland International Cabaret Festival, winner Best Cabaret Adelaide Fringe 2016 and nominated for a Helpmann Award. It isn't any wonder. Thirty seconds into the first song and vocalist Michaela Burger has you completely captivated.

Accompanied by Greg Wain on guitar, Michaela intertwines Piaf's greatest songs with both humorous and tragic anecdotes of her life, at one point drawing comparisons between herself and Edith "She was born in a Parisian gutter, I was born in Coober Pedy," she remarks to an Australian audience in giggles.

A perfect mix of mime and lighting brings the mood for each tune and Michaela's French accent, facial expression and puff of the chest comical but on point, transforms her from narrator to Piaf herself.

Showing at the Burt Memorial Hall, Cathedral Square from 6-11 February, this is one late night Fringe show you want to stay up for this year, if only to feel the prickle on your skin as Michaela Burger and Greg Wain's interpretation of Piaf's classics echo around the building.
