On 12 September 2019, Adelaide Botanic Garden will be hosting a workshop about the design philosophy behind Chinese and Japanese gardens. This workshop will be presented by Arbel Zhao, who is known in China for his landscape architecture for commercial and large residential projects.

During the workshop, participants will get to know the differences between Chinese and Japanese garden designs, and how the philosophies of a Japanese garden can be applied using what can be found in Australia. Participants will also be taught gardening techniques such as wiring and topiary to enhance the wellbeing of the plants.
