You Have 45 Minutes to Escape - The Clock is Ticking
Exitus is a real life escape the room experience and is the first of its kind in Australia. The first venue, which opened in May 2014, is located in Port Melbourne and more venues are expected to open in Melbourne and other Australian cities very soon.

This dynamic form of highly interactive entertainment is currently sweeping the across Asia, United States and Europe and sees players attempt to solve various challenges in order to escape a room within a specified time limit.

Players can work together in pairs or groups of up to eight and are challenged mentally rather than physically, as all the problems require "thinking outside the square".

The Port Melbourne venue is currently offering five different themed rooms; each is designed by the Game Master and includes vivid storylines, and complex puzzles and challenges.

Choose from

*Prison Break; You and your friends have been imprisoned for life for a crime you didn't commit. Blindfolded and handcuffed, you only have 45 minutes until the guards return for the next inmate headcount. Can you break free and regain your freedom?

*Casino Heist: You're part of a crew of professional criminals looking for the next big score. An anonymous tip has led you and your crew to a highly secure casino. You'll need to work fast and as a team to pull off the ultimate heist!

*Yellow Brick World: Don't be fooled by the bright and colourful scenery, your journey will be filled with challenges and obstacles; especially with the wicked witch watching over you! Escape in 45 minutes or you might be stuck in Oz forever.

* Apollo Mission: Your team has just wrapped up their final successful moon walk. Everyone has returned to the lunar module ready to head back to the Apollo. You try and fire up the engines but nothing is functioning properly! You have 45 minutes to help your crew fix the ship and make a safe journey back to earth.

* CSI Melbourne; They say the detective was getting too close to the evidence and sealed his own fate. Now you'll need to take over the case and retrieve the evidence. Do it fast and escape or suffer the same fate as the detective!

A combination of logic, intuition, problem solving and teamwork is required to successfully escape each room. If you don't work together you will not escape before the allocated time runs out, which is why the Exitus experience is ideal for team-building.

The time limit for all escape games is 45 minutes and the maximum capacity for each room is 8 persons. Challengers under the age of 16 are welcomed to participate if accompanied by an adult.

If you become stuck during a game, you can press the help buzzer.

All games are fully supervised by Game Masters monitoring via surveillance cameras.

HD video recording of your game is available for corporate bookings as well.

Pricing is as follows:

Adult 1 room $38
Concession 1 room $33 (valid University / Under 18 ID must be shown)
Adult 2 rooms $70 (must be used on single visit)
Concession 2 rooms $60 (must be used on single visit)

Multiple passes and bulk room passes are also available.

I love the sound of the yellow brick world and apollo mission.

Sounds interesting, but definitely not the "first of its kind in Australia". Escape Room Melbourne opened up earlier, and even earlier than that was one in Sydney and one in Perth.

Expected better. Poor design makes some things much harder than they should be, too many technical issues, staff pay no attention to customers experiencing difficulties, time limit is much too short for the price. Definitely won't be going again. The one in Richmond looks a lot better so will try that next time
