If you love cityscape painting, the exhibition by Michael Shannon is not to be missed. The exhibition focuses on the amazing works of Michael Shannon, depicting the changing face of Australian suburbia. The exhibition is curated by the Art Gallery of Ballart, including private collections and the Newcastle Art Gallery's extensive holdings.
An exhibition talk by the Director of the Art Gallery of Ballart Gordon Morrison will be held on Saturday 30 June at 11 am. It is free to join.

21st Century Beginnings The Corrigan Collection of Aboriginal Art, Penrith Regional Gallery
If you are a lover of aboriginal art, there is a great opportunity to view quality Aboriginal paintings at the Penrith Regional Gallery, thanks to a private collection of collectors and arts benefactor Patrick Corrigan AM.

The exhibition features the large scale paintings of thirty-four Aboriginal artists from different regions - Northern Territory, Western Australia and northern Queensland. Created in the first decade of the 21st Century, the body of artworks represents a blend between traditional narratives and contemporary art practice.

Selected Works of the Gosford CBD Artist Residency 2012, Gosford Regional Gallery
An upcoming exhibition of contemporary artwork at the Gosford Regional Gallery will certainly whet your appetite. With an aim to revitalise the CBD of Gosford and increase engagement of local community with contemporary art, the Gosford CBD Artist Residency 2012 will take place between 18 June and 29 June 2012. In a shared vacant shop in the Gosford CBD, four selected artists working in the fields of performance art, installation or other mediums will be invited to develop a body of work over this 2-week period.
Each artist will develop their work through their interpretation and observation of the people, shops and public places in Gosford CBD. The work developed during the Residency will then be exhibited in a group exhibition at the Gosford Regional Gallery between 21 July and 16 September.

Look! The Art of Australian Picture Books Today, Hazelhurst Regional Gallery
Most kids love story books, and so they will certainly keen to understand the process of visual storytelling. Here is an opportunity at the Hazelhurst Regional Gallery - the Look! The Art of Australian Picture Books Today exhibition will start late June.
The exhibition presents 112 artworks of over 40 Australia's finest children's book illustrators. To demonstrate the various stage of developing contemporary Australian picture books, sketches, drafts, mock-ups, finished artwork and publications as well as multimedia presentations are included.
