Wild ideas for a habitat shared by humans and animals
Image from ArtPlay New Ideas Lab
ArtPlay's New Ideas Lab program supports both artists and children to collaborate and develop new arts experiences. They've asked 6 to 10 year olds to imagine and make a mini city into a wild and thriving green metropolis. These wild ideas are a contribution to the City of Melbourne's Birrarung Marr's master plan to develop a more animal-friendly environment in the park and on existing bridges.
Artist Kathy Holowko and the children of ArtPlay are now ready to show you an exhibition of their Wild City sculpture where animals and humans share their habitat. See this amazing mini landscape from 13 April to 20 May 2018 - 10am to 4pm. It's suited to children 5 to 12 years old and can be seen at ArtPlay on Birrarung Marr behind Federation Square, corner Flinders and Swanston streets, Melbourne CBD. This is a free event and no bookings are required. All children must be accompanied by an adult.
