Folklore, embroidery, costumes, pottery from Greek families
Hosted by the Greek Museum of Adelaide from Friday 20 December 2019 to Saturday 4 January 2020 from 10 am to 5.30 pm each day, the Exhibition of Greek provides an opportunity to learn about Greek art, culture and history.
The Greek Museum of Adelaide is a new not-for-profit association promoting and preserving Greek culture in Australia. This new museum hosts exhibitions of traditional artefacts from Greece including antiquities or more recent items. There are collections of coins, traditional costumes and musical instruments however the museum is also focussed on the collection, preservation and restoration of documents, memorabilia and genealogy from Hellenes to Australasia.
As part of the opening of the exhibition, join the Greek Community at the exhibition at Flambouro Hall, 18 Fulton Street, Glenelg North for a one act play 'The Diary of an Immigrant' with Giorgos Katsibreis on Sunday 22 December 2019 at 5.30 pm. This play will be conducted in Greek with English subtitles. Entry to the play is $10 at the door, which will go towards fundraising to assist the Museum.
