Hosted by Wounded Heroes Australia, EXSP18 (Exercise STONE Pillow) is a fundraiser that provides immediate financial support and raises awareness of homeless veterans and veterans at risk of homelessness and their families in SE Queensland. Proceeds from this family event all go to support the cause 100%. Check here for booking details.
Held on 13 Oct at 11am to 14 Oct 9am at 221 Grindle Rd, Wacol, get your tickets here for this community charity sleep-out. Tickets for those Sleeping Out includes traditional Army Mess Dinner & Breakfast, but not for those on a Day Pass who are looking to come just for the day to enjoy the military display and kids activities.
Children under 15 years of age, cadets of all ages and students at school are all free, however you still need to register to assist with catering. See more details here. Donations and organisations who'd like to raise funds for our homeless heroes and their families can still donate either on the ticketing page or via the website.
If you'd love to but can't make it to the event, you can make it fun and run your own fundraiser event to donate to the cause. Invite family, friends, neighbours and colleagues and have a backyard sleep-out event to show support of the crisis lived daily by homeless vets and their families. Send in your photos on Instagram #woundedheroesoz with a caption like the picture above.
For those attending EXSP18, Pterodactyl helicopters will be there supplying flights for adults and children ($75 & $65 respectively), with a donation from each flight going straight to this fundraising event. The rest of the day includes a huge military display from Army, Airforce and Navy, with lots of activities for the kids.
Live music will play all day, which includes the Army Band. BBQ lunch and cold drinks will be available from 11am-3pm to fundraise for this alcohol-free event. A sunset memorial service is a must see, plus there's a monster raffle with over ten thousand in prizes, along with special guest speakers.
