The Exchange Hotel is an award-winning pub located on 39 Bay Street, Port Melbourne and last summer they launched The Exchange Beach Club which I admit to have frequented. This pop-up beach club felt luxurious. Yes, we go to the beach to sit on the sand and enjoy sun and surf, but every now and again it's wonderful to treat yourself to having a beachside seat on the sand, with food and drinks fresh off the bar on hand and just hanging with your friends with some shade over your head.

Good news, it's back! Launching on Friday 4 Dec 2020, enjoy this pop-up beach club right up until 21 March 2021 from 12midday to 10pm every day on Beach St, Port Melbourne. You can't miss it, as you come upon it like an unbelievable mirage on the beach. It's FREE to enter, so find a spot, and just kick back and relax. I hope they NEVER charge for being on beaches. It's very unAustralian!

If you're one that wants a guaranteed spot, you can pre-book a VIP cabana, day bed, or for groups, check out their lounges and picnic tables. Pooches are welcome, however, they have to remain on a lead. Cabanas and Day Beds run out fast, however, if you're a group of 4-8 people you can still book a Picnic Table for a period of 2 hours. The VIP Cabanas are of course a beach experience like no other. You just need to settle in for an afternoon of leisure with table service so you don't have to move a muscle. Just sit back and relax whilst they spin all your favourite tunes. Do note that Cabanas and Day Beds are bookable based on a minimum spend, redeemable on food and drinks on the day of your booking. They're available for groups of 2-4 people and will set you back on that minimum spend of $50pp from Monday to Thursday and $125pp Friday to Sunday.

The terms and conditions are that you confirm your booking 48 hours prior to your booking time; they'll call to confirm. They accept all major credit cards (for security only) or cash, and you pay your total bill at the end of your stay. If you choose to cancel the whole reservation within 48 hours of the booking, or if your group numbers drop by more than 3 in the same period of time, 50% of the menu selected will be charged to the card provided. If you have any food allergies & intolerances, notify them of your requirements 48 hours or more prior to booking. They'll take due care to ensure meals or beverages served are free from notified products. However, they cannot guarantee that the meals or beverages will be free from trace elements.

Nibble on skewers straight from the grill, tuck into a juicy burger, enjoy fresh salads perfect for summer and of course a selection of fresh seafood; think fish & chips, lobster rolls & more. There's even a pop-up ice-cream cart serving up delicious cold flavours for those hot summer days. If you're a VIP Cabana guest, beach life just got easier and summer days lazier. Skip waiting lines and just scan the QR code on your table and order via your phone. Food and Drink will magically appear. However, if you'd still like to stay old-school, you can also order at the bar.
