This first institutional solo exhibition by Tiwi artist Johnathon World Peach Bush is Linden New Art 's newest exhibition at 26 Acland St, St Kilda, that'll run from Sat 17 June till 10 September 2023. Come long to the Opening Night Reception on Friday 16 June from 6.30-8.30pm with an Artist Talk held the following day, Sat 17 June from 1-2pm. Enjoy 15 major works that explore Bush's interest in global politics, family, and cultural heritage through the lens of three key themes, Religion, Colonial Crimes and Indigenous Culture. it is hoped through his artwork, you get a glimpse into his strong beliefs and desires for a world of peace and equality for all humankind. Bush's work features figurative elements sourced from Western art history, religious iconography and images of political figureheads that are layered over cultural mark-marking that reflects Jilamara, Tiwi body paint designs.
