Presented in association with John Curtin Gallery at the Perth Festival 2021,Everything is Trueis where you'll see the largest ever assembly of sculptural work by Abdul-Rahman Abdullah, a Perth-based artist. Exhibiting from Friday 5 February to Friday 23 April 2021, this is a FREE event at John Curtin Gallery, Curtin University, Kent Street, Bentley. Opening night is on the 1st day of the exhibition and gallery opening times are from Monday to Friday 11am to 5pm, and 12-4pm on a Saturday and Sunday in February. This changes after February in March and April, with opening times on the weekend being for Sunday only from 12-4pm.
This exhibition presents you with a blend of exquisite technical crafting, material intrigue and a realistic presence that can be both playful and terrifying, depending on which way your imagination wants to wander, and how the imagery taps into your psyche and emotions. Abdullah's work has been described as magic realism, creating poetic interventions with the built environment.
Everything Is True fills the entire John Curtin Gallery for an emotionally charged journey through the memories, dreamscapes and spiritual imagination of one of Australia's most compelling contemporary artists.
