The Everton Park Hotel is not just another club. Sure it has the bistro meals with the obligatory Chicken Parmigiana served with salad and chips, pokies in the corner and TV's flashing sports and the latest keno numbers, but Everton Park Hotel is so much more. So, so much more.
At the front of the building is nice cafe-style seating at CC's Bar, where you can enjoy a coffee and cake (or cocktail) or one of the bistro meals ordered from the main bar. The coffee is good, there is a reasonable selection of sweet treats and the couches are very, very comfortable.
But the thing that really sets the Everton Park Hotel apart is the children's playground. This is a pretty fine example of a playground. But for a playground within a club, it is downright amazing. The playground is loosely separated into different areas for different ages groups.
There is a toddler area off to the side with small climbing equipment, slide, train, and pretend shop. The main section has large rope climbs, swings and big slides for kids with the suggested age of 7 and up.
The favourite however, at least for the smaller kids, seems to be the carousel. At $2 a ride, small people seem to delight in riding the bee or the car in circles for hours. For those really rainy days when even the kids shy away from puddles, the play area also includes a gaming room and a separate TV/DVD room, and all of this is enclosed within a large, safety fence and gate. Seating and tables set around the play area in the courtyard, with handy access to bar stocked with milkshakes and soft drink, mean that parents can sit back and relax while their little ones play within sight. During the school holidays, the Everton Park Hotel hosts special kids activities which include free carousel rides, face painting, circuses or magic shows.
The Everton Park Hotel has many other regular specials, including cheap steak nights and one night where kids eat free. The Mummy Tree Markets also set up home here several times a year.
It is the perfect combination of adult and children's entertainment and will ensure the Everton Park Hotel becomes a favourite with the whole family. Amazing play centre, school holiday activities, bars, restaurant, cocktails and coffee - Everton Park Hotel really does have it all.
