To mark her 50th year with 50 new things, Yvonne Shepherd took on one of the biggest adventures of her life - The Kokoda Track. Prior to leaving, panic set in and she began to wonder what she was doing.
Yvonne is no stranger to adventure. In 2013, she created Brisbane-based company, Women's Fitness Adventures. She has led adventurers on many hikes, including the Great Ocean Road, Central Australia, the Blue Mountains and Tasmania.

David Gillespie - Being qualified to write
David Gillespie is a lawyer and best-selling author of 8 books, including Sweet Poison (a hard look at the role of sugar), Toxic Oil (an exposť of everyday food oils) and Free Schools (an investigation into private vs public schools). He's no stranger to the challenges of writing hard-hitting books about topics where he lacks formal qualifications. His forthcoming book will examine the role of psychopaths in the workplace and home.
Join David for a conversation about being taken seriously as a lawyer who likes to tread on the toes of other professionals, being qualified to write, popularising complex topics, and the citizen's right to know. David's books will be on sale at the event.
