The weather may be colder, but Canberra still has a range of great, heart-warming events across Winter for you to enjoy for free. Explore nature, history, art, science, and even the wine region for free.

City Of Trees

City of Trees is an audio art trail by artist Jyll Bradley. The walk reflects upon Canberra's 100 years through an exploration of trees and parks, and is available to do all Winter.

The Four Winds Vineyard

The Four Winds Vineyard is located at 9 Patemans Lane, Murrumbateman, about 40 kilometres north of Canberra. On Saturday the 1st of June, there will be a Cellar Door Opening. The day will include a party with the Reggae/Afro-beats of Decland Kelly and the Rising Sun, pizza and drinks. Entry is free from 10am to 5pm.

Science Week

National Science week runs from the 10th to the 18th of August and there are a range of great free events in Canberra. The week brings together major science and educational institutions for experiments, activities, and forums. Two shows of special interest are about Electricity, and Earthquakes.

Open Day at Geoscience Australia will be held on Sunday the 18th of August from 10am to 4pm at Jerrabomberra Avenue in Symonston.
