Sedaris' style of humour is very autobiographical and often self-deprecating. His career really took off in the early 1990s on radio in the US, with his first collection of essays and short stories,
Barrel Fever, published in 1994. He also penned the revered book
Holidays on Ice, as well as collections of personal essays including
