When Europe comes to you with open arms
The European night market is about to hit Melbourne this July with all its usual gusto and gastronomies. And it just keeps getting bigger. It's so true; you can take folks out of Europe but you simply cannot take Europe out of them. Goes to show how strong cultural ties can be and why it needs to celebrated.
So be there with your culinary passports at the ready when all of Europe come together at Madame Brussels Lane. The Night Market is going to take you to Europe in a big way with Spain, France, Italy, Turkey, Poland, Greece, Switzerland, Germany and all their compatriots vie with each other to serve you the best of their local cuisine.
MIght be a good idea to eat frugally all day and then turn up at 5pm, ready to feast on Bavarian bangers, bretzels, Turkish gozleme, French brulee, Spanish rice and paella, Greek gyros, Polish dumplings and more.
Culinary heavyweights like Brezel Biz, Pierogi Pierogi, Il Panzerotto, Goz City, Eat Cannoli, Hella Good, Swiss Made, Frencheese, Pop-Up Crepe, The Brulee Cart, Elena's Paella, and Bavarian Bangers have rolled up their sleeves and donned their chef's hats to give you their best.
When the food's that good can the drinks be far behind? The Night Market has its own cocktail at the ready and then there's Little Lon Distilling Co, apparently the only distillery in Melbourne CBD, raising spirits with their handcrafted gin. Hot toddies and mulled wine are back on the menu. The Oddfellows Hotel, from way back in 1853, is set to come awake for the four weeks with their signature brews.
