Eurofest is a 2 day event in September to celebrate and enjoy the cultures represented by the various clubs in Frenchs Forest. The event has been a huge success in the past and it is now in to its 18th year.

Held at Ararat Reserve on the third weekend in September, the festival boasts a huge array of European food and market stalls as well as a vast array of entertainment suitable for all ages to enjoy.

Ararat Reserve is uniquely positioned in that it is surrounded by the Austrian Club, Czech Club, Armenian Club, Danish Club, Swedish Club and Dutch Club so during the day, the festivities take place in the park and then at night the clubhouses do their part in continuing the celebrations.

A large stage area is the venue for many music and dance acts throughout the day and the 800 seat beer hall is always popular.
As part of their annual charity ride, Sunday morning will see the arrival of approximately 200 Harley Motorcycles which I'm sure will be a highlight for any motor sport fan. A craft tent, fireworks, kids amusement rides and shooting range are also on offer.

Each of the clubs (German, Austrian, Armenian, Dutch and Danish) have a stand selling their nations' food and specialty drinks. There are also other food stalls that sell a variety of delicious European goodies from Switzerland, Turkey (the ever popular Gozleme stand), Czechoslovakia, Italy, Germany and others including Himalayan.

If you've ever wanted to try a Dutch Kroketten, herring fillets or Leberkaese then this is the festival for you.

After lunch take up a spot on the grass to watch as each country parades around the ground in their National Costume or get a good spot near the stage to watch the cultural performances and settle in to wait for the fireworks.

When: Saturday 17th September 9am - 8.30pm (fireworks from 7.30pm) and Sunday 9am - 5pm
Price of admission: Adults $5.00, students and pensioners $3.00 under 15 years are free
Where: Ararat Reserve, Bantry Bay Road, Frenchs Forest

Local street parking is available but arrival after noon will mean that you may have to walk a bit, so get there early for a good spot. There is also a free shuttle bus from Bantry Bay Road/Warringah Road shops to the festival.
