I hiked
Cedar Grove and Pine Grove Circuit with the Group Hiking South East Qld and More. We started at the Sky Window carpark and we finished in Eungella township. The Chalet was not far away and we decided to visit it and have something to drink.
On the way to The Chalet, there are a few trees of Bauhinia variegata, commonly called orchid trees, they have beautiful large pink flowers that resemble orchids.
When we got closer to The Chalet, I could hear a lot of noise coming from the forest nearby. A colony of flying foxes were making lots of squealing and shrieking calls when flying from one tree to another and hanging upside down.
The Chalet just appeared at the end of a short dirt road. It had great futures in a yellow pastel colour with red awnings.
We entered a large room with games and with walls full of old photos. Then we walked into the bar and from there on the back deck, I saw the awesome views over the Pioneer Valley.
Then we went back to the trail and walked back to the carpark. The trail in the forest was fantastic and the walk was made more interesting with the stop at The Chalet.
I did return to The Chalet the next day with my family to once again enjoy the tranquil atmosphere and food, soak up the views and catch up with my emails and forums.
