Etsy Made Local is a national one-day event that will see Australian cities from coast to coast celebrating the makers, designers and collectors that make up the creative community on Etsy, the online marketplace for handmade and vintage goods.
On Saturday 28th November, Etsy Adelaide is helping the people of Adelaide conquer their Christmas shopping and connect with the makers and designers of unique, handmade gifts at Oxford Terrace, Unley.

More than 100 local Etsy sellers will be selling at the Etsy Made Local market, with products ranging from illustration, glass art, ceramics, greeting cards and leather craft to jewellery, fashion accessories and homewares.
The free event will give the people of Adelaide a chance to discover some of the best of the city's creative community, allowing them to connect with and buy directly from local makers and designers. As well as providing the perfect opportunity to find unique, affordable and meaningful gifts in the lead up to Christmas, the event will also include live music and charity fund raising.
Colin Capurso, the Etsy Adelaide Team Captain, said "At our event, we want visitors to marvel at the quality and craftsmanship of the goods offered. Not only will visitors be 'buying local', they will be buying unique, sometimes one-off items, lovingly crafted and designed, as opposed to mass produced. Our event will be curated with these values in mind."
"Our stallholders are micro-businesses or hobbyists, the majority running their enterprises from a home-base. As such, they are mindful, resourceful creatives and don't rely on large-scale manufacturing of their goods. Many practice up-cycling and repurposing."
In addition to the Etsy Made Local event in Unley, the French Market, organised by Alliance Française d'Adélaïde, will also run their free event a short distance away on the same day. The French Market will focus on all things French culture, including French-inspired gourmet food and wine, popular French music and entertainment, cooking demonstrations, and children's activities.
