A slice of the Greek Islands is tucked amongst the iconic Henley Square precinct. Located at 255 Seaview Road, Henley Beach, the restaurant that is dominated by white and blue will invite you with a laid-back indoor and outdoor dining space and sea views as a backdrop.

Estia Restaurant not only offers you traditional Greek dining but also a very welcoming and friendly waiting staff working together for your best experience. Choosing the food is very hard as too many delicious options. But as Nick Mavridis, the owner, says, it’s a special ‘no rules’ place, where there are no entrees, no main course. Just mouth-watering plates of delectable dishes inspired by and celebrating Kyriakos’ Greek upbringing and its culture of sharing. My suggestion is to choose Mezethakia, a range of select dishes where you can pick and choose what you want to eat and share with your dining companion. Besides what is on the menu, they also have special offers for the day.

That day we had BBQ calamari, Greek Lasagna, Tis Skaras Arnaki (chargrilled lamb fillet with special dressing), Greek salad and chips. All food was cooked and presented beautifully and in abundance. They were very busy that night but it’s not affecting their standard, both food and service. I recommend Greek beer to pair the food. We didn’t see Greek Martini on the menu, but from what I heard it’s a must to try. They also have a good selection of homemade desserts.

Either for lunch or dinner, this restaurant has a serious national reputation. First-generation Greek Australian, Nick Mavridis, who opened the business with his father Kyriakos and brother Anesti back in 1992, have made Estia as Best Greek Restaurant in the 2019 and 2022 National Savour Australia™ Restaurant and Catering Hostplus Awards for Excellence, as well as Best European Restaurant in South Australia 2015 and 2017. Estia is also rated as the number one Greek Restaurant in South Australia on Trip Advisor.
