Campbelltown's Casual Dining Vibe
Essen Cafe and Restaurant Campbelltown
We made a Saturday lunchtime visit to Essen Cafe and Restaurant, situated on the main street of Campbelltown. We were quickly greeted by friendly staff, shown to a table and given our menus and table water.
The atmosphere was cheerful and sunny, with a lovely laid-back vibe. Plenty of booths and tables were available, making it perfect for couples, friends catching up, larger groups and families with kids.
Start Right: We shared the delicious Baked Herb and Garlic Loaf which was a whole Turkish loaf spread with herb & garlic then baked, served with traditional tomato concase $8.00

The Main Event: A great selection of mains to choose from. My fellow diner had the Scotch Filet Scotch filet which is grilled to your liking served with potato puree, wilted baby spinach with a choice of gravy, mushroom, creamy pepper sauce – 300 Grams- $30.00.
I enjoyed the tasty vegetable ragout tossed with linguine pasta. $15.00

Essen also has seafood dishes, burgers (Burgers come with a free soft drink), schnitzel, salads and lots more, plus an all-day breakfast menu if that's more your style. They can also adapt dishes to be gluten-free, just ask. Check out the lunch menu here.
Get Your Just Desserts: Because the serving sizes were plentiful, we didn't have room for dessert, but if you were smart and went for dessert first, you could have a tough decision to make between Sticky Date Pudding, Baked Gaytime, Baby Black Forest, Ice Cream Sundae, Brownie Duo or Crème Brulee. Essen also offer cakes for any occasion.
Set the Bar High: If you are here in the evening and decide you feel like some pre-dinner drinks, not a problem - Choose from delicious cocktails on offer such as a Mojito, Midori Splice, Tequila Sunrise, Fruit Tingle or a Long Island Iced Tea Plenty of wine, beers, coolers, ciders and spirits to entice you.
Both of our meals were pleasingly generous. Great for a casual lunch or dinner - We will visit again for the food and the feel-good factor. It is so nice to find good food and service in the local area.
