There's a hip new café in Westfield Mt Druitt to rival the well-established and well-loved Lucie's Café, and they really deliver on their promise of providing great coffee and a great café experience.

We visited Espresso Warriors last weekend after my boyfriend spotted it a few days before and was intrigued. There are not many good cafes around in the area, so any new café always piques our curiosity. I was attracted at first sight, as the interior is decked out in hip industrial style with potted herbs and plants scattered throughout, exposed bricks and beautiful dark furniture. We were immediately greeted by a friendly waitress as soon as we walked in and ushered into a comfortable spot near the kitchen, where I could see the cooks busily preparing food for the many customers that day.

We went in for lunch, but since the café serves all day breakfast, I opted for one of their breakfast meals – haloumi stack with zucchini and corn fritters and avocado smash ($15) along with a vienna coffee. My boyfriend ordered a roasted chicken, cheese and avocado on toast with slaw ($11.50) and the kids had ham and cheese toasties with a serve of rocket salad with balsamic dressing. We also ordered American cheesy fries with bacon ($9.50) to share between us.

All the meals were delicious, and we all loved our food. I love haloumi, so I enjoy it any which way it's cooked, and the zucchini and corn fritters were nice and crunchy. The cheesy fries were decadent and reminded me so much of America (so it lived up to its name) and the kids liked it. They also liked the balsamic dressing that was on their rocket salad (although the salad itself was uneaten), which they dipped their bread and chips in. And the Vienna coffee was deliciously creamy and smooth – indeed a great coffee experience.

We also received good service – the waitresses checked up on us a couple of times during the meal and were quick to deliver on our requests. We asked them about their café, how long it's been open for and how business was going. Apparently they've had good business so far after being open for a few days (which is a good sign) and they also have stores in other locations such as Wetherill Park and Warrawong. Overall it was a great experience, and we'll definitely be back!
