Everybody's favourite South Brisbane hangout, Fish Lane , is again hosting a buzzing festival. If you don't already have plans for Ekka eve then consider combining your caffeine intake with cocktail concoctions at the second annual on Tuesday 14 August from 5.30pm to 10pm.

Commonly, an Espresso Martini is made with vodka, espresso coffee, coffee liqueur, and sugar syrup, but there are myriad variations on this theme. Some of the confections on offer at this year's festival include a condensed milk ice cream cold drip vanilla martini and a rum salted golden syrup espresso martini. More creative combinations will be announced soon.

Your taste buds will also be tickled by delectable Fish Lane food from residents Hello Please and Ol' School . How do the following sound to you? & #8203 ;
• Fish Dim Sim Chilli Coriander Sriracha Mayo
• Potato Scallop Szechaun Curry Mayo
• Coconut Swordfish Tom Kha Gai Salad
• Spicy Fish Cake Bao Peanut Hoisin Pickled Cucumber
• Prawn Crackers

Maris Cook, of South Brisbane's Hello Please says "After the success of the event last year, it was a no brainer to bring back the to the thriving Brisbane dining precinct Fish Lane. This year guests can expect to enjoy a range of different twists on classic espresso martinis, paired with
the delicious flavours of Hello Please and Ol' School"

If you're worried about caffeine-induced insomnia you'll be pleased to know that you can also try a little something from their range of 4 Pines beer, Save Our Souls wine, or soft drinks.

Event experts Brandition are in charge of the show, adding creative pop up bars, shared lounge spaces and industrial styling to the existing vibrant Fish Lane mix of eateries, atmosphere and sensational street art.

Tickets are $45 per person (plus booking fee) and are on sale now online here . Your ticket gets you an espresso martini on arrival and a selection of street eats and bites. But get in quickly. Last year's festival was a sell-out.

There's also a competition on their Facebook page (drawn 6pm on 29 July) to win two free tickets to the event. What are you waiting for?
