Just a girl spreading the word about all the fun (and probably nerdy) things to do!

Do you think you can escape?
Escape rooms are the new craze that's hitting the town and there's no surprise why; they're an absolute blast and it's a really good puzzle to get your brain pumping.

Of the many new escape rooms to hit Sydney, a good one to check out is the Strike Escape Room at King St Warf. There's a few reasons for this, firstly it's fairly cheap, where some rooms can get up to $40 per person these rooms all cost $100 and you simply split it between your group members (up to 6 people), although popular days (Friday-Sunday cost $150). Furthermore the location is pretty handy as it is only a few minutes walk from Wynyard station. Of course a bonus of being held at Strike compared to other places is that you can go bowling, play laser tag or pool, or grab a drink or food straight after in the same building!

If you plan to go, there are currently three themed rooms to choose from, each with a different level of difficulty (you can see their descriptions on the website)
Forensic: 9 (ages 15 )

Strike Bowling Escape Room - The Forensic

The Bucher's Burrow: 8 (ages 15 )

The Garden: 7 (all ages)

Of course each room has its own little story and reason to escape. Now I am not allowed to reveal anything from the room because that would give the game away but I can say you are fully immersed in the experience and 'The Bucher's Burrow' can actually get quite spooky!

You will need to give up your phone when you go in, meaning you'll be locked in a room for an hour with no internet, but it is definitely worth the temporary loss of your pocket wonder. The games are all timed so you need to get a wriggle on to avoid the panicked last minute dash to escape! But don't worry the staff are there via trusty old school communication devices to help you out if you are stuck.

You need to book the rooms in advanced on the Strike website but it's very simple to do and there are a range of times available for each room to suit your availability. Be aware though you must arrive on time because there will most likely be groups after you and you REALLY want to make sure you're there on time so you have the maximum amount of time to solve all the puzzles.

Lastly as an added bonus there is a fun box of dress up outfits at the end of the room so you can get a group photo of your adventures as a problem solving team. Also Strike provides a special offer at the bar of $5 drinks for each player.

All in all it is an excellent experience that will definitely have you coming back again and again. It is a lot of fun and a great way to spend your night!
