See the countryside so lush and green in Spring
Here is the best of what's on out in the country and under 2 hours drive from Adelaide. These country events are for the month of October 2016.
The Butterfly Walk at Mt Barker DATE Sunday 9th October
This family walk is to support awareness of domestic violence. This is their first walk, and is being run by the Love Hope and Gratitude Fondation Inc'. Anyone participating is asked to wear or carry a butterfly. When you register you will be asked how many butterflies you need. They ask you please register online before the day. The walk will leave McClaren Street at 11am and everyone will walk together to Keith Stephenson Park, where there will be a family fun day with activities and market stalls. It's a great cause for a new foundation and we need to get out in the sunshine after all that rain. For updates see facebook site here
Change Original Music Festival- Gawler DATE Last day is 9th October at venues Exchange Hotel and Prince Albert Hotel, both in Murray St. All artists are local and play original work.
DATE- 8th- 9th October and 15-16th October October is the start of the Spring Open Gardens. Take a drive to Kapunda and Eudunda to see some interesting nurseries and gardens. More information and directions here

Meadows Country Fair DATE Sunday 16th October 9am -4.30pm This is a major event and it is full of good old fashioned country fun. Held at the Recreation Ground this day celebrates all things country, especially cows. There will be many hands-on activities and fun family entertainment. See website here for more details.

Fleurieu Folk Festival
DATE 21st -23rd October Held at picturesque Willunga in springtime, this is one of the top folk events for SA. There will be loads of entertainment with dancers, workshops and music galore. Enjoy local and interstate acts live on stage. Tickets and all the information on the website here
Burra Picnic Races DATE Saturday 22nd October
This event will be held at Thistlebed Station, Eastern Rd, 18kms east of Burra. Gates open at 9am. Basic camping is available for Saturday night. Here is the facebook site which doesn't have much information about the event.
Retromania Antiques and Collectables Fair at Woodside
DATE 22nd and 23rd October
Local and interstate dealers bring some interesting and sought after vintage items. Search for that unique home décor piece or something for your collection. Venue at Woodside Hall. Take a drive in the hills for this great day out.
