Es Teler 77 Indonesian Restaurant

Es Teller 77 is a casual Indonesian restaurant in Carlton, next to Don Tojo.

I picked a meal off the menu, but the staff didn't think I'd like it, so I ended up with Nasi Goreng with chicken (for about $10). To their credit, it was awesome - super spicy (the sweat-dripping, nose-running kind), but still flavoursome and brilliantly presented. It also came with a small bowl of soup and a pile of prawn crackers.

Heaps of shallots and broccoli throughout:

The soup looked like weak chicken soup, but it tasted anything but weak.

The décor was so bright and colourful that coupled with the posters (specials) on the walls, it kind of felt like a classroom except that I was the only student in it.

There's lots of seating at Es Teler 77 and meals are prepared quickly. If you like your food hot and spicy, you won't be disappointed.
