I think I've just found my new best friend - Erbachers Fruit and Vegetables, a family-owned business that's been operating on the Sunshine Coast since 1965. Erbachers Fruit and Veg are locally owned and operated by the second and third generation of Erbachers and their families. This store was initially founded by Eric and Thelma Erbacher and besides employing their own extended family, employ local staff, many of whom have worked at Erbachers for nearly twenty years.
Erbachers aim is to provide the freshest and best quality fruit and vegetables on the Sunshine Coast, by sourcing locally as much as possible, thereby supporting local growers and their produce. And, the good news is, that Erbachers Fruit and Veg is open seven days a week from 7.30am to 6.00pm and only close for Christmas Day and Good Friday. All other public holidays they are open from 8.00am to 5.00pm.

Besides having great quality fruit and vegetables (did I mention at really good prices?), Erbachers Fruit and Vegetables have a diverse range of 'other' products too:
Dairy/Poultry - which includes Gourmet local yoghurt, cheese, butter and free range eggs; Bakery - different breads from gluten free to Turkish bread to a selection of home-made biscuits and cookies; Meats - bacon and an assortment of cold meats including ham, chicken, turkey, salami, pastrami and even cocktail sausages; Coconut waters/oil - Coconut water and oil from JT's, Pete Evans Raw C coconut water, banaban coconut oil and drinking coconuts;
Cooking - cooking oils, avocado oil, brown rice flour, organic coconut flour, marinades, organic herb salt, Himalayan salt, Chang's Asian sauces and Hokkien noodles; Jar Products - Beerenberg condiments, seafood sauce, caramelised onion, beetroot relish, chutneys, garlic, ginger, chilli and pickles; 'Other' products include - honey, fruit juices, dried fruits, nuts, seeds, herbs and spices, quinoa, rolled oats, muesli, peanut butter, chocolate coated nuts, Energy Green Supplements, coffee beans and ground coffee; traditional Christmas cakes, veggie crackers and chips, liquorice, toffee apples, flowers, dips and so much more.
You're not limited to just buying your fruit and veg for the week because JD's Quality Seafoods is also to be found on the same grounds as Erbachers. JD's are open from Thursday to Sunday 10.00am to 4.00pm - we bought our weekly fish (salmon) and the freshness and quality of the seafood was second to none, but I was a tad disappointed to find that the prices were slightly on the high side.
Looking for a caffeine fix, whilst shopping? No problem, Solace Coffee Van (you might remember them as being one of my dog-friendly coffee hang-outs) is also on the premises. Solace Coffee's opening hours are Monday to Sunday from 6.30am to 2.00pm and they serve everything from coffee to cookies and muffins - a great spot to stop off, sit under the trees and enjoy your drink of choice.
Theoretically, you're getting three outlets for one stop - how good is that?

The next time - which will more than likely be in the next week or so - that you're looking for some high quality fresh fruit and vegetables, some fresh seafood or perhaps just a four-pawed friendly coffee outlet, get on down to Erbachers Fruit and Veg in Diddillibah - you'd be dilly not to.
