The ever so quaint village of Summer Hill holds the ultimate place to have a good meal, great service, one of the best cups of coffee around and enjoy the Vietnamese inspired art.
Driving into the little village, I noticed a huge banner with 2012 Winner Best Cafe Restaurant - Sydney Suburbs, Restaurant and Catering Award for Excellence and an award for the 2012 Most Outstanding Cafe. Inner West Small Business Awards, it made me feel proud as I am such a regular that I'm furniture.

Corridor
The envy of Summer Hill is Envy Cafe and Gallery. I have been visiting this outstanding establishment since 2008 and enjoy my visits immensely. Walking through the main doors on the corner of Smith Street and Hardie Avenue, I have always been greeted warmly by one of the staff. They lead the way through a little corridor to the outside (I could have entered from the back).
We were seated under the breeze of the Jacaranda tree for our late breakfast and some good coffee. I love Envy, not just for the little Art Gallery by the courtyard but because there are many gluten free options to choose from. I had Vegemite on good quality gluten free toast while my husband ordered the Envy Big Breakfast. I tried some of his mushrooms …
mmm very good, and as usual, my coffee was very enviable. Yes, the play on words can become tiresome.
Roberto's and Rowies both deliver the gluten free goodies that I actually said no to on that particular day, but on other days, I have to be honest and say, you really can't tell the difference between a cake/tart and a gluten free cake or tart. They are delicious.

Gallery in the Courtyard
Mid morning, mothers groups popping in to enjoy a cuppa and a bite before their daily routines. I personally had a day off and found it nice to be out on a school day rather than just a Sunday morning brunch.
Envy isn't a place to tire of, it is a place to sit, feel very welcome and enjoy the good food at a very reasonable price 7 days a week. I am known by my first name but so are many of the other patrons that visit. Homely is one way of describing the feel and so is welcome. I love it and I know that you would too. Try it on for size,
Envy also caters for you parties and needs.
