My husband and I stayed at The Star Gold Coast on our weekend getaway. We decided to dine at one of their seven restaurants, Entwine as we felt like 'staying in'. We arrived at 6pm and were pleasantly surprised by how nice it was.

Large illuminated artworks were hung on the walls; the soft lighting gave the restaurant a romantic ambiance; and a candle sat on each table creating that elegant look. The decor is simple, yet modern and sophisticated complete with a team of friendly, professional staff.

The menu looked fantastic with a wide range of selections for all kinds of appetites. Seafood fanatics are well catered for with choices like fresh oysters, chilled seafood platter, and live lobster. Carnivores will be pleased with a great range of steaks and lamb from the grill. And there are plenty of mouth-watering sides to accompany your meal such as field mushrooms, brussels sprouts and bok choy.

I love fresh oysters so I couldn't help ordering a dozen for entree. And these oysters did not disappoint; in fact, they were magnificent! As they were brought out, they looked firm, plump and full of flavour with each shell full of the natural juice. The smell of seashore and the creamy colour of the oyster guaranteed its freshness.

I excitedly dug in and gosh, it was heavenly. The level of creaminess, sweetness and saltiness of each oyster was absolutely perfect and when complemented by a few drops of lemon juice, it tantalised the tastebuds with the most exquisite taste. One after the other, we ate silently, relishing every single one.

Dishes from the grill come with the chef's selection of garnishes so it was nice to have an element of surprise to the meal. My husband's scotch fillet arrived with pepper sauce, creamy mash, broccolini and some sort of salad with fennel and pomegranate. The steak was tender and juicy with a smoky flavour. The pepper sauce wasn't overpowering and was an excellent complement.

My pan roasted barramundi with asparagus and corn arrived at the same time. The crispy skin was tasty and the fish was so fresh, tender and succulent. Just yum!

We also got two sides with our mains: field mushrooms and roasted pumpkins. Both were cooked to perfection and full of flavour. We enjoyed every mouthful of our meals and as we slowly polished off the plates we both decided that we were too full for dessert. Having said that, when the dessert menu was placed in front of us, I couldn't help taking a look.

After a quick glance, my eyes fell on the classic lemon tart. We decided that perhaps we weren't too full for dessert after all and ordered one to share. I was glad we did because it was to die for.

The lemon flavour of this tart was pretty intense. A powerful lemon flavour accompanied by some not so sweet pastry had me wanting more after every bite. The silky filling melted in my mouth so quickly that it made me wonder whether I had some or not. If you like your tart quite lemony, then you will absolutely love this one just like I did. It was light, not too sweet and utterly delightful.

The dinner was quite pricey, but with exceptional service, delectable food using quality ingredients and flavours that tickle your tastebuds, there's nothing wrong with a bit of indulgence every now and then.
