Fun, food, entertainment in the main streets of Engadine
The Engadine Street Festival will be back by popular demand on Sunday the 14th of August from 9am to 3pm.
This year, the Engadine Street Festival is being run by Sutherland Shire Council in partnership with Essential Community Solutions and they have planned a bigger festival with more stalls, entertainment and carnival rides. It will be one of those community events that you won't want to miss!
There will be over 40 food and market stalls with plenty of rides and activities to keep the kids happy. You will be able to stroll up and along the Old Princes Hwy (between Waratah and Station Streets) and on Station St (to Caldarra Ave). The festival will also be held in the Town Square outside the Community Centre and there will be road closures in place from 4am to 6pm on Sunday 14 August 2016.
This is an event where families and friends can come together for a relaxing day of shopping, exploring new tastes or just sitting back and enjoying the live music and community performances on the stage.
You will be able to listen to the wonderful music from the Engadine Musical Society, Heathcote High School, Yarrawarrah Public School, Heathcote East Public School, Shire Concert Band, Engadine High School Band, St John Bosco College Band, St John Bosco Primary Band, Engadine Public School Band, New Horizons and Shire Stage Band.
You will also be able to marvel the fantastic dance moves of the Joanne Williamson Dance Academy, Engadine Dance Academy, Engadine Public School Dance Ensembles, K & V Dance Corp . If you are looking for a gymnastics club, Acrogym is one of the top gymnastics club in Engadine, Sutherland Shire & Menai.
Station Street will have carnival rides, an animal farm, kids craft, paint an umbrella and show bags in addition to roving performers.
Road Closures will affect the section of Old Princes Hwy between Station St and Cambrai Ave, Engadine and between Old Princes Hwy and 64 Station St to 42 Station St. Detours will be in place to manage traffic in the surrounding areas.
Clear zone notifications will be posted on Saturday 13 August along the defined section of the old Princes Hwy and Station St in order to clear all existing 1P car spaces in advance of the scheduled road closure at 4am on Sunday morning.
