Since the closure of the Junction Markets a few years back, an undercover outlet that nurtures small sellers of various good and services has been missing from Adelaide's northern suburbs, much to the dismay of sellers, and indeed buyers. But thanks to some local imagination, and a huge footprint, the Enfield Mega Market is alive.

Located at Enfield Plaza at 449 Main North Road, the Markets have absorbed the upstairs space previously occupied by Harvey Norman many years back with room for around 200 stalls of varying size, style and variety. The markets are open from 9am to 3pm on Saturday, and currently feature sellers looking to sell anything and everything that you can think of, plus more.

Anchoring the market, and being keen contributors to the market atmosphere, are the food and drink retailers. Regulars include the Moroccan Chef, Thai food, Malaysian food, vegan and gluten free food, Bremer River Cottage coffee and cheesecakes, hot dogs, hot chips, potato twister, deep fried Choc Oreos, homemade pies and pasties, fairy floss, popcorn, and cupcakes galore, with enough to keep anybody happy. Most retailers have ready-to-eat servings, while a number also have products ready to take away and cook at home.

Fresh fruit and vegetables also feature in a couple of stalls alongside some dried fruits, jams and chutneys. Other stalls include bric-a-brac, antiques, collectibles, fashion, jewellery, cosmetics. Services are not forgotten with visiting psychics and cosmeticians providing services to the adults while the kids play in the small playground area.

The Enfield Mega Market is always looking for additional stallholders, so if you are a budding small business looking for a low cost outlet where you can put your goods or services on the market, then why not give it a try.

The fledgling Mega Market has only been operating a few months but is getting bigger and better each week as more stallholders come on board, and more buyers pop in for their regular weekend market fix. Further details are available from the Enfield Mega Market facebook page.
