What is endometriosis?
Endometriosis is an insidiously painful medical condition that afflicts 10% of all women aged 15-49 years.
Endometriosis Australia proudly supports these events which are being held simultaneously across Australia, as part of Worldwide Endo – March.
Team Australia's goal for 2015 is to raise funds towards developing an education program for schools. With an average diagnosis delay of 7-10 years many young women and girls face a long and stressful journey from symptoms to diagnosis.
An early education in schools aim to help young girls to understand that painful periods are not normal. It is hoped that by understanding the symptoms, and being well equipped to ask the right questions of a doctor, that in the future young women will not face the significant delays in diagnosis and can better treat the disease.
Each event is made possible by the selfless nature of volunteers and generous sponsors.
