Fancy taking some time out to rest and rejuvenate but can't afford the cost of a full-blown health retreat? What if I told you there's a relaxing spot you can slip away to - and best of all, it will cost little or nothing, and you can do it in the space of your lunch hour?
Two words: Endeavour Bookstore. A little haven of wholesomeness amid the grit and grind of Fortitude Valley, Endeavour Bookstore has a wide range of tempting books on everything from acupuncture and aromatherapy through to nutrition, skincare, beauty and phytotherapy (medicinal plants). Although the store is frequented by students of Endeavour College of Natural Health as it stocks many of their textbooks, it's not all heavy reading, with plenty of popular titles on calm living, cooking, wellbeing and women's health.

Even more delightful is the fact that it's not just a bookstore either. Endeavour Bookstore also has healthy living accessories such as salt lamps, herbal teas (including caffeine free and dandelion chai), bamboo phone cases, eco toothbrushes, stainless steel water bottles, CDs and DVDs and watches. It's a calm and peaceful place in which to wander, and browsing is encouraged.
A full range of Perfect Potion essential oils, spice blends, balms, chakra balancing mists, handcreams and other smelly lovelies is also stocked. Testers, naturally, are available for those who wish to try before they buy, making Endeavour Bookstore a great place to tick off some of the items on your Christmas shopping list. Many items are inexpensive too - for example, the salt hearts are $3.50 each and make a great stocking filler for an eco-conscious friend or family member.
And if you'd like to be kind to your stomach as well as your soul, there's a great cafe called More Wholefoods just next door.
