On the Saturday 13th & 20th September, you are invited to visit the 14th annual Jungle Chalet Art, Craft & Watergarden Event from 5.30pm to 9pm.
This year's theme is 'The Enchanted Night Garden' and will see the unique mini rainforest setting lit up with colourful lights, fog effects and atmospherics.
Attractions include the 'Gorilla in the Mist', the 'Spouting Elephant' and the sculptured rainforest walk.
Created by Don Murchison, The Jungle Chalet features "hygromorphomatics" - the artistic harvesting of rainwater, to create artificial streams, ponds & waterfalls, with real sound dynamics of moving water. Rainwater is harvested from all hard surfaces, then recycled around the Watergarden.
The garden is also home to a friendly possum or two!
In addition to the fascinating Watergarden and hygromorphomatics, there will also be contributions from both local and international artists, including Italian video artist Claudio Rivetti, fresh from an exhibition in Venice, paintings by Botond Bandy, sculptures by Timbron & Haoxiang and Annie Labriola, plus a UV design piece by Tony Nolan. Don's nature-inspired leadlight windows will also be lit up as part of the display.
This event is sure to delight every member of the family.
