Delicious and authentic
Empress Restaurant in Greenhill Road, Toorak Gardens serves delicious yum cha. During our recent visit, we had bbq pork buns, eggplant, glutinous sticky rice wrapped in banana leaf. All are freshly prepared, delicious and authentic. They also have a variety of desserts. We had mango pudding, durian puffs and their special durian cake made from recipe passed down from generations. For those who do not know what durians are, well, they are tropical fruits with very pungent smell but delicious taste. The outside of the fruit is covered with spikes. Most people either like it or hate it. Here is a photo of the durian fruit.

Besides yum cha, they also have their ala carte menu.

Empress Restaurant is open for lunch every day from 11 am to 3 pm and dinner from 5 pm till 10 pm.

They do get busy especially during weekends so reservations are recommended. For more information visit their wesbite.
