Venturing out to the Emporium Hotel is always a treat. It's lush, opulent surrounds not only set the benchmark for boutique hotels in Brisbane, but the world itself. It has an enviable selection of champagnes, sparkling, red and white wine. Celebrating their 10th birthday this month, however, sees the Hotel offering something extra special.
This month the Emporium, one of the world's finest and most awarded boutique hotels, has created a list of their signature cocktails from over these years, as well as a special creation to mark this momentous anniversary of a decade. The selected cocktails are the best-selling and most popular cocktails from each of the years the Emporium Hotel has been in existence.
Peter Savoff is the Hotel General Manager. "Each year the Emporium Hotel famously releases two cocktail lists - one for the warmer clime and the second for the cooler months. Both are welcomed with great anticipation and eagerness by both Brisbane and the country's cocktail lovers." said Mr Savoff. "In celebration our flagship 10th anniversary, we thought it only fitting to unveil a signature libation from each year, and to create a headline cocktail for 2017."
2017's Signature cocktail - The Ten of Diamonds
This year's signature cocktail is known as the Ten of Diamonds. It uses a sophisticated spirit base with strawberry liqueur for sweetness, lime for freshness, egg white for texture and is carefully crafted together with pepper on top. It is nothing short divine.
Other cocktails appearing on the celebratory list include 2015's favourite and colour-changing drink, Alice in Wonderland (using George Clooney's very own tequila).

The Gingerbread Man from 2009 also makes an appearance, tasting like delicious but very alcoholic butterscotch and vanilla gingerbread, topped with shortbread.
Another dessert in the disguise of a cocktail, is 2014's favourite (and possibly mine also), the Toblerone Martini. The Emporium Hotel grows and makes as much of their own produce as possible, such as the many herbs, spices and vegetables they use as part of their tapas and charcuterie menu. It also includes the honey used in this cocktail which is harvested from the bee hives on the roof of the Hotel.
The 11 Signature Cocktails include:
2017: Ten of Diamonds - Martell VS Cognac, Wild Strawberry Liqueur, lime juice, egg white, agave nectar, raspberries and pepper.
2016: Ginger Geisha -
Havana White Spiced Rum, Mozart White Chocolate, Ginger Liqueur & Syrup, coconut cream, sesame seeds.
2015: Alice in Wonderland -
