Emily's Place: love the name, love the place
If your train ride into Melbourne's city is anything like mine (standing room only for 40 plus minutes – thanks Metro), you'll need a strong coffee upon arrival.

With genuinely friendly staff and food aplenty, Emily's Place is a hidden gem in Melbourne Central.

It really is easy to walk straight past this tiny cafe:

Getting closer:

My breakfast favourites are bagels and croissants, and Emily's Place does them both well. They also serve cooked breakfasts, sandwiches and desserts. They use Vittoria Coffee.

From the outside, Emily Place's appears to glow, welcoming you inside to where it's cosy and warm. I could forget about work all together here and just sit and read the paper all day.

Look at that glow! Emily Place's is popular, but not crowded and staff are friendly but not pushy. You'll have to see the inside for yourselves.
